Fossil Flats Multi-Use Trail

The Fossil Flats Multi-Use Trail is located in Devil's Den State Park in Northwestern Arkansas just 40 minutes south of Fayetteville.

This trail is thought of as one of the first mountain bike trails in the state of Arkansas.

Fossil Flats is home to the Ozark Mountains Mountain Bike Festival in April as well as the Northwest Arkansas Mountain Bike Championships in September.

This area was settled in the mid 1800's and early 1900's. There are remains of early 19th and 20th century homesteads along the trail.

The trail is fast and flows very nicely, but there are some slower, more technical parts of the trail as well as some difficult climbs. The trail has some singletrack sections but can be ridden either clockwise or counter clockwise.

This trail is located in a scenic part of Arkansas and is a very thrilling ride. If you live in Arkansas or any state nearby, you should ride this trail at least once. It is one of the best mountain bike trails in the South/Midwest area of the United States.

Trail Rating: 9.4/10
